Brazilian Samba & Afro Cuban Rumba Performance

Why: Party along to some Latino beats with the Actfa School of Dance & Performing Arts this Sunday as they take the Esplanade Powerhouse by storm. Introduce some energetic Brazilian Samba and Afro Cuban Rumba into your life when you take part in fun workshops and try your hand at some hip-shaking moves. This is one free event not to be missed, so be sure to grab a few friends and head over to the Esplanade to get your feet moving by the front of the Singapore River.

Oktoberfest Asia 2016

Where: Tan Quee Lan Street
Why: Got a belly with a penchant for some hearty food and good drinks? Reserve your tickets for the ultimate beer fest of the year. Spanning three exciting days along Tan Quee Lan Street (opposite Bugis Junction), you’ll no doubt want to treat yourself to some gourmet Bavarian food, authentic Bavarian beers, and awesome music by a proper Munchen band. The venue will be decked out in a fully air-conditioned marquee for comfort and convenience, so there’s simply no reason why you should skip out on this celebration.

Okinawa Festa in Singapore

Impressions 2016 – Childhood Dreams

Why: Enjoy a great line-up of popular theme songs from your children’s most beloved animated films as the NUS Harmonica Orchestra performs amazing childhood favourites from the likes of The Lion King, Frozen, Kung Fu Panda, Aladdin and more. Admission to this fun concert is free, so celebrate Children’s Day this October over at NUS and make sure you bring your kids along with you!

Let’s Dance!
When: Sunday, 16 October; 5 - 9pm
Where: Bedok Town Square
Why: Got to Move (GTM) is bringing the party to Bedok Town Square this Sunday. For those unfamiliar with the initiative, the GTM movement, presented by the National Arts Council, is an annual nationwide programme that aims to celebrate the island’s dance scene and to encourage people all over Singapore to get moving. Join hundreds of dancers and residents at Bedok Town Square for a mass dance session that you won’t soon forget, and look out for a special performance on the day by The Royal Dance-Off.

The Fourth Phase – Movie Screening & Workshops

Where: Handlebar Singapore at Gillman Barracks, 10 Lock Road
Why: Catch a screening of The Fourth Phase, a film that might go down in history as the best snowboarding movie of all time, and inspire yourself even further with some awesome ski and snowboarding workshops at Gillman Barracks. Halloween may still be a while away, but there’s still plenty to do in SG this week!

We’re getting into the swing of things now that we’re halfway through October. For the ladies out there in the mood for a makeup 101 class, Estée Lauder will be hosting a pretty neat Double Wear Foundation Class at ION Orchard this Saturday that will see you learning slick techniques regarding choosing the right foundation formula and creating a flawless complexion.

Celebrate Children’s Day this October by catching the Impressions 2016 – Childhood Dreams performance. Bring your little ones over to the Stephen Riady Centre at NUS University Town this Sunday to see the NUS Harmonica Orchestra perform some familiar themes from animated film favourites like Frozen, The Lion King, Aladdin, and more! Best of all, admission to the event is free, so you’ll get to reminisce with your kids to your heart’s content!
