We’re often accustomed to seeing fashion month through editors’ eyes and through the lenses of streetstyle photographers, but what about in the shoes of the designers themselves?
The once-elite fashion industry grows increasingly accessible with the presence of social media. Labels are using Instagram and Twitter as means to reach out to their customers and the public. Editors are always holding their smart phones at fashion shows ready to live-tweet and post straight-off-the-runway snaps for their followers, and models give an insight into their off-duty and on-the-job musings. Designers aren’t an exception to the social media game, with the Insta-savvy like Olivier Rousteing of Balmain (with his selfies of the Kardashian clan) and Alexander Wang being avid users of the apps to get in touch with their customers.
