Having previously hosted the event in Brazil, India and Paris, the British luxury label heads on over to Asia to celebrate its iconic trench in Hong Kong.

Quite irrefutably, Burberry is the de facto authority on all things trench coat related. While you may think wearing a trench is bordering on ridiculous in Singapore, Burberry proves you otherwise with its extensive selection of lightweight and weather-friendly fabric. Hence, trust us and put on the iconic coat for their traveling Art of the Trench festivities.

As part of Burberry’s global celebration of its digital platform, Art of the Trench, the brand took to Hong Kong next after previous stops at Seoul, Shanghai, Kiev and Istanbul. For those who are not privy to the initiative, it essentially celebrates the iconic Burberry trench and the people who wear it – by inviting people around the world to submit portraits of themselves in their trench coats to feature on the site.

The stopover in Hong Kong saw over 350 guests including, actresses Hilary Tsui, Valerie Chow and singer, Ellen Loo. To liven up the crowd, British band Eliza and the Bear also performed a brilliant acoustic set.

In addition, photographer, Wing Shya was enlisted to photograph 30 of Hong Kong’s established and emerging creative pioneers with the eclectic city as a backdrop. Guests were then invited to explore the photos from interactive touch screens throughout the store – in true innovative and digital Burberry style. Subjects of the photography series include, Joey Yung, Stephen Fung, Wyman Wong, Amanda Strang, Aarif Rahman, Michael Lau, Stanley Wong, Douglas Young, Shing Mak, Flora Lau, Valerie Chow and Charlotte Chen.

If you’re in Hong Kong this October then be sure to spot the digital content that will be on display on four hanging LED panels within Pacific Place mall till 5 October 2014. It will also be displayed at the Burberry Pacific Place flagship store, Russell Street and Alexander House stores till 12 October 2014.
