Gucci
Gucci's Creative Director, Frida Giannini and CEO, Patrizio di Marco have announced their departure from the brand. The duo - who are also a couple in real life - will leave at the beginning of 2015. Di Marco left on January 1 and Giannini will leave at the end of February after presenting the Autumn/ Winter 2015 collection.

Now who will take over the coveted role?

John Galliano
After being unceremoniously dismissed from Dior in 2011, Galliano was welcomed back into the fashion world as Creative Director of Maison Martin Margiela. His first showdown will be for the couture line to be shown during London Collections, as well as in Paris later in January.
This, we absolutely can't wait for.

Gareth Pugh
After having shown in Paris for countless seasons, the enfant terrible will make a triumphant return to London Fashion Week this season as he celebrates his 10th anniversary. More importantly, this will not be a one-off return for the designer intends to stay on the LFW calendar.

Mulberry
After Emma Hill's departure from Mulberry in 2013, it has been a cloud of guess work figuring out who will replace the designer. Finally, in November 2014, it was announced that former Céline accessories design director, Johnny Coca would become the new Creative Director. He will assume his role on July 8.

Hermes
Christophe Lemaire spent 4 years handling the reins of the luxurious Hermes but eventually bid farewell after his last show in October. Taking over will be former Celine and The Row designer,Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski.

Marco Zanini
After playing an instrumental part in heading the couture-revived brand, Schiaparelli, Marco Zanini - former Rochas designer - has officially parted ways with the Italian label. Neither the brand nor Zanini have announced their next steps.

Peter Copping
Upon leaving Nina Ricci, speculation was growing regarding the designer's next move, that is until Oscar de la Renta introduced Peter Copping as their label's Creative Director. Shortly after, Oscar de la Renta passed away, leaving behind a legacy at the hands of Copping. He will present the first collection at New York Fashion Week in February.

Guillaume Henry
Before Peter Copping was confirmed at Oscar de la Renta, Guillaume Henry, the former Carven designer was off to replace him at Nina Ricci. His first show will be for the upcoming Autumn/ Winter 2015 season.

Before we gear up for a fresh new season of fashion shows, it’d be wise to get your facts right and know where some designers have moved to.

As we freshly embark into another year of elaborate fashion shows – from prêt-à-porter to haute couture and resort, – oodles of trends, stylistically shot streetstyle and new designers bursting onto the scenes, one thing remains a constant, that the industry loves to indulge in one big game of musical chairs.

Throughout 2014, we’ve seen multiple swapping of seats at labels – some shocking, others welcoming – that we’ve been kept on our toes, prepping ourselves for the next big jump around the corner. Hence, as we begin the year proper and gear up for the upcoming Autumn/ Winter 2015 season, it’ll be wise to keep this cheat sheet handy before you make any accidental wrong-designer-mentioned faux pas.

That’s a blunder no-one in the fashion industry will forgive you for. Harsh? We know.
