Singapore Fashion Week 2016 makes the move to October

updated the 19 February 2016 à 16:01

Expect to witness a more vibrant and engaging fashion week in town this year.

A model walks the runway during the Victoria Beckham Autumn/Winter 2015 collection show at Singapore Fashion Week 2015 on May 17, 2015 in Singapore, Singapore.

Instead of May, the Singapore Fashion Week (SFW) calendar will be moved to October, paving the way for a new consolidated format with increased interaction and new initiatives.

Here’s the best part: activities will include free and ticketed events that will be open to the public, where there’s promise of deeper engagement between Singapore designers, SFW partners and the public.

The push will not only allow consolidation of the SFW Runway Shows, Fashion Futures, SFW Fashion Talks Series and a trade component under a singular Singapore Fashion Week brand, the trade presentations will be have a more intimate setting where designers will be able to have more in-depth engagement with buyers.

Another benefit from the shift: new initiatives like the SFW International Programme and the developing Patrons Programme to allow greater engagement amongst designers, media and fashion industry players in key markets such as Indonesia, Thailand, Australia and South Korea.

Exchange programmes, social media ambassadors, soon-to-launch Patrons Programme – we can’t wait for October already!

Keep a lookout for more details on Singapore Fashion Week 2016 that’s to be announced in the following months.
