‘Naked Dress’: The latest wedding trend to hit the aisle in 2018

Leaving little to the imagination, this bridal trend certainly takes sheer to a new level.
Forget your traditional white dress: it seems like some women are opting for much less conventional options. A suit – a birthday suit, that is.
Behold Paris Couture Fashion Week’s most bizarre creation to create an online fashion frenzy: the ‘naked‘ wedding dress. The dress, designed by On Aura Tout Vu, debuted at their 2018 Paris Couture Fashion Week show last week.
The dress features sheer lace mesh for a skirt, and an armour-like embellished corset that covers most of the upper body area, but leaves the crotch completely exposed. The designer also nodded to the nude bridal trend with another number designed with a large white skirt and skin colour leotard.
This is not the first time a barely there wedding dress has made headlines. Spanish bridal atelier Pronovias made waves earlier this year for its sheer bridal jumpsuit featuring a nude leotard with white lace covering only intimate areas.
There’s no denying this dress is made for the rather emboldened bride who doesn’t mind alarming a few (okay, all) aunties; but would you be the one to wear it?
