To celebrate Mikimoto’s 1st anniversary, the Japanese luxury jeweller launched a sophisticated collection in collaboration with Hello Kitty.

It seems like cats sure know how to get ahead in life. After seeing Karl Lagerfeld’s Choupette turn makeup muse and fashion designer, Asia’s very lovable feline, Hello Kitty, is not that far behind either.

Japanese luxury jeweller Mikimoto teamed up with pop icon, Hello Kitty for a collection that playfully integrates the kitty into elegant designs. By introducing the collection, the partnership also ties in with Mikimoto’s 1st Anniversary of its Singapore flagship boutique at The Shoppes At Marina Bay Sands and the famous Sanrio character’s 40th birthday.

The 10-piece collection which includes pendants, earrings and a silver bangle reflects Mikimoto’s sophisticated design sensibilities for creating a fairly versatile lineup, fit for any occasion. Alongside the more understated pieces though, the brand revered for its pearls also unveiled a stunning 6-piece high jewellery collection with Hello Kitty.

One of which was a 12-strand Akoya pearl necklace with the kitty’s face traced in diamonds, rubies and onyx pearls, making this piece quite the standout – which was precisely how Hong Kong model/ actress, Lynn Xiong looked with this necklace gracing her decolletage.

Whether the feline is re-imagined in refined silver or within the grandeur of pearls, you’re clearly never too old to be a fan of Hello Kitty.
