To envision what the people of the future will be wearing, all you have to do is look to the Swedish retailer’s latest range.

If scientists ever figure out a way to live on another planet, H&M Studio’s latest Autumn/ Winter 2015 collection would be the only range you need to pack. No questions asked.

Featuring zip-up coats and jackets, turtlenecks and shimmery lurex pieces, the futuristic and sporty line is definitely bursting with oodles of vibrance and energy. However, perhaps what truly intrigues about this collection is its nostalgic ode to the 70s in terms of silhouettes like flared pants, but yet looks every bit as innovative for a wearable distant future.

“I love the attitude and energy of H&M Studio for Autumn/ Winter 2015. Sporty zip-ups are perfect for the street, while rollnecks give a layered look. The shimmer of lurex makes it a season to celebrate whether it’s day or night,” said Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor at H&M.

The colour palette itself is a beautiful motley of russet red, starbust orange and deep greens and blues to give the entire collection quite the mysterious allure. Additionally, along with the futuristic side of things are the hints of utilitarian elements such as ski dungarees, zippers and pockets.

So if you’d like to envision how your wardrobe (or rather your children and grandchildren’s wardrobe) would be like in 2100 then perhaps you might want to start experimenting looks and creating mood boards with this collection!

The H&M Studio AW 2015 collection will be available in stores from 10 September.
