Why We Love It
Since its release, many bagaholics and fashionistas consider the Chanel Boy Bag to be one of the most coveted bags in fashion. While, there have been many renditions of the Boy Bag, this season’s Iridescent Boy Bag is definitely the most alluring.
We were given a sneak peek of the bag in the line up of the Korean-inspired Cruise 2016 collection in Seoul last May. Then, early this November, Kylie Jenner announced via Instagram that even though she never considered herself a “Boy Bag-type girl”, she still couldn’t resist this lustrous bag.
What makes this Boy Bag so appealing is its colour-shifting leather and hardware. The purple goatskin leather is never the same colour, thanks to its coated sheen that changes with the light. The chain and buckle are made from ruthenium hardware, which gives off an oil-slick hue not unlike titanium. We also love that it gives us a nostalgic reminder of 90s mood rings!
