Why we love it:
We admit, we’re quite nostalgic by nature hence the appeal of everything vintage when it comes to clothes as well as jewellery. So it’s only natural that we fall for these Love Letters which are inspired by the long lost romantic gesture of sending loved ones hand-written notes.
In essence, gifts are messages, so the concept of these beautiful gold lockets seemed to come naturally to the designer behind the newly launched Singapore-based Inscribed jewellery line – Brenda Kang. This antique and vintage jewellery expert (with over 15 years working with Christie’s none the less) felt that modern jewellery do lack that personal touch which antique pieces like lockets harbouring photos or written notes within used to have.
Although modern looking and simple in design, these gold envelopes – which come either as pendants for women or cufflinks for men – evoke the romanticism of Victorian era by acting like real envelopes where you a written message can be inscribed inside on a gold plate. How cool is that?
The pendants come in 3 sizes – Slim, Chubby and Mini – the latest of which makes a great heartfelt gift for newborns which they would continue to appreciate as they grow. Also all the pieces are hand-crafted from 18k gold and feature a diamond, sapphire or ruby cabochon of between 0.05 – 0.07 carats so you can pick and choose your favourite.
