Slim and fitting sheer tops are everywhere this summer. But how exactly are you supposed to wear these transparent pieces and avoid a fashion faux pas?
Playing with transparency in clothing can be chic and sensual, as well as dangerous and risky! If pulled off well enough, you won’t have to suffer making a fashion blunder. The key is to be brave and to acknowledge that your choice of clothing must be sensible enough to prevent unnecessary embarrassment later.

First and foremost, the amount of transparency in your tops must be subtle and delicate. You must be suggestive – never reveal everything! Only tease your onlookers, but even then, you must always be sure not to tip the scales and go too far.
So how do you wear sheer tops?
Always opt for high-quality, flowy materials when it comes to picking your outfit. Soft colours will work, or pieces with a little lace to add some sultry spice. Of course, you can always fall back on a sheer plain black top to create that timeless look.
Choose a bra that is the same colour as the top you’ve picked! If not a bra, then perhaps a tank top or singlet to act as a modest undershirt. If you’ve got a smaller chest, you can opt for a tube or bandage top.
Thinking of something a little more discreet? Opt for tops that are more opaque – you will always be able to find different levels of transparency when it comes to sheer tops, it’s just a matter of searching high and low for the one that suits you best!
