Watch This: Chanel unveils new BOY.FRIEND timepiece
updated the 6 October 2015 à 23:02Chanel brings a masculine touch to the iconic Premiere watch with clean-cut lines and refined alligator straps, making it an accessory we can wear on any occasion with any outfit.
It’s usually the clothes that command all the publicity when it comes to the fall/winter collections. This year around, it’s a welcome relief that the one thing generating all the hype before its official launch this fall is an accessory. Not just any accessory though, as only something as esteemed as a Chanel watch is capable of drawing such hype and attention.
With a release date set in September 2015, Chanel’s new BOY.FRIEND watch is inspired by Coco Chanel’s penchant for borrowing men’s clothes and wearing them as her own. A refined timepiece with masculine lines and an octagonal shape that brings the emblematic and iconic PREMIÈRE watch to mind, the Boy.Friend watch comes in 18k white gold or 18k beige gold with sapphire glass
The masculine elements are evident in the dimensions of the watch, which is available in two sizes: the large, which is 34.6 mm by 26.7 mm, and the extra large, which measures 37 mm by 28.6 mm. But the most masculine detail of the watch has to be the red, black and navy alligator straps, a material usually associated with men’s timepieces.
Although masculine in design, the Chanel BOY.FRIEND is essentially a feminine watch with a timeless elegance and versatility that will appeal to the woman with refined taste. Take a closer look at this modern masterpiece in the gallery above.
The Chanel Boy.Friend launches in September 2015 and will be available at all Chanel outlets.
