Would you try an ‘Elixir of Immortality’ or ‘Anubis Potion’?

It’s been an exciting year for Singapore’s cocktail craft-making scene; and in the spirit of (no pun intended there) experimental mixology, Elixir Bar has unveiled an all-new alchemy-themed cocktail menu.

The new menu features 10 ‘elixirs’ that fall into 5 categories: Beauty, Happiness, Life, Luck and Courage concocted with fantastically-named ingredients like the “Heart of Swan” and “Slime of Snail” because, well, why not?

The newly-appointed head mixologist, Vladyslav Buzko, says he was inspired by the name of the bar to whip up drinks that would speak to the imaginations and tastes of cocktail enthusiasts. He shares, “With our cocktails, I want guests to rediscover the joys of curiosity and the wonderment of fantasy.”

Inspired by Ancient Greek mythology & Egyptian Gods

And a journey of fantasy it certainly does take you on. Not only are the cocktails named after something from a fantasy novel, it comes served in medieval-worthy or Egyptian goblets, with a fascinating back story to boot.

For one, the ‘Elixir of Life’ section on the menu features cocktails inspired by the secrets of eternal life. This includes the Elixir of Immortality (SGD24), a sweet cocktail concocted to resemble ‘ambrosia’, the food of the gods in Ancient Greek mythology, and Anubis Potion (SGD24), inspired by the famed Ancient Egyptian god of afterlife.

If the answers to eternal beauty lies in the depth of a cocktail glass, their Elixirs of Beauty might come close. Aphrodite’s Secret (SGD23) is a gin-based drink inspired by the Ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty. A blend of elusive ingredients like Heart of Swan (strawberries), Slime of Snail (egg white), Drooling of Ant (lime juice) and more, expect a delightfully floral drink quite different from the usual cocktail fare.

So if you’re looking for a new watering hole with drinks that are experimental as they are delicious, we’d say the new menu at Elixir Bar is certainly worth a visit. Browse the highlights of their new alchemy-themed menu in the gallery above!
