Marriott Cafe to kick off durian season with its Durian High Tea Buffet

Some love the King of Fruits. Others, not so much. For those of you who go crazy for the creamy, pungent flesh of decadently ripe durian fruit, wait till you find out what Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel’s Marriott Cafe has in store for durian lovers from 1 June to 9 August. That’s right, they’re about to fuse durians and dessert together to create their scrumptious Durian High Tea Buffet.

Expect a slew of sweet and savoury durian masterpieces – from slices of Durian Strudel to lusciously cream-laden Durian Swiss Rolls to mini Durian Cream Puffs… and get a load of this: gloriously gooey Durian Pizza, complete with lashings of stringy mozzarella and melty mascarpone. It’s a savoury rendition that is guaranteed to impress. Treats like Fried Durian Balls, Durian Mochi, Durian Kueh Lapis, and much more await at the dessert corner.

Of course, these durian delights aren’t the only thing you’ll want to chow down on at this funky themed buffet. Let your appetite be wooed by the rest of the extensive spread of the restaurant’s popular High Tea buffet, which brings diners over 50 local and international food items on top of the durian fare. Give in to Singaporean dishes like Oyster Omelette, Nasi Lemak, and Laksa, or pile your plates high with fresh oysters and prawns. Don’t forget the dim sum bites (hello, Pork Spare Ribs and Baked Char Siew Sou) and high tea classics (fluffy scones, anyone?) to top off your gastronomical experience.

But, we’re sure you’re probably just thinking of loading up on the durian options, right? Yup, we’re thinking the same.
