The haze may be worsening, but we can easily head underground to avoid it.

The bad news is that we’re still dealing with the haze; the good news is that a good portion of our country is underground. Thanks to our urban planners, you can easily head to lunch or dinner without making any contact with the poisonous haze. All you need is a little bit of strategic planning.

Orchard Road is the epicenter of our shopping, entertainment and dining destinations. Fortunately for us, six of Orchard’s best shopping malls are accessible via underground tunnels from Orchard station itself.

Another portion of our shopping district is easily available from Somerset station, where three more malls are connected. A stone’s throw away from Somerset is Plaza Singapore that is only minutes away by train or bus.

The silver lining to the giant smog cloud currently engulfing the little red dot is that we can easily avoid the haze. There are countless other areas like City Hall and Bugis where malls are reachable from the train stations via tunnels or bridges.

So for your convenience, we’ve rounded up 10 dining options that you can head to while avoiding the acrid smell of the haze.
