1 Bing Go Jung Dessert House
Bing Go Jung is one of the pioneering cafes in our local Korean dessert food scene. Since opening their first cafe at Guillemard Road, they have now opened a second outlet at Bukit Timah Plaza. The cafe draws patrons in droves, who flock to the joint for the popular Milk & Red Bean (SGD11), Injeolmi (SGD11), Coffee (SGD11) bingsu flavours. It also offers other menu items like toasts, grilled sandwiches and waffles. Although the texture of the shaved ice was not as fine as the offerings at other joints which use milk shavings, you’ll still find it to be smooth and satisfactory.

2 Nunsongyee Korean Dessert Cafe
Since its opening its very first cafe in 2015, Nunsongyee Korean Dessert Cafe has rapidly expanded its presence here, with branches across locations in Tanjong Katong, Bugis, Upper Thomson and more. It’s no surprise there, considering how quickly the cafe grew in popularity. It prides itself in serving classic and authentically Korean desserts like the Korean rice cakes, bingsu and signature toasts.

The bingsu served here is highly comparable to the authentic ones in Korea. The dessert is prepared using shaved milk rather than shaved ice, and key ingredients are imported directly from Korea Our favourite bingsu flavours on the menu include the Mixed Berries, Snow White and Injeolmi. The rice cakes, also known as tteok in Korea, are recreated from traditional family recipes from the founder’s grandparents, who were rice farmers.

You’ll also find that its furnishings are styled after the typical dessert cafes you’ll find scattered across Seoul, with its earthy tones and wood elements.

If you’re looking for a Korean dessert fix in the western regions of Singapore, this is the spot to be. The cafe serves bingsu flavours like the signature Red Bean with Milk (SGD12.50), Strawberry Cheese (SGD18.90), Mango Cheese (SGD18.90) and Grapes (SGD16.90). The ice shavings here were deliciously powdery and fluffy - much like snow - which great flavours to match.

Seoul Yummy has been delighting Singaporeans with their quintessential traditional Korean cuisine since 2008. Fast approaching its 10th year anniversary, the casual Korean joint has revamped its menu to include 30 new dishes that include desserts like the Mr. Bibimbap (SGD11.90) - a bingsoo dessert cleverly disguised as the popular Korean savoury dish. The dessert features a finely-milled bingsoo shavings topped with fresh strawberries, bananas, kiwis, peaches, dried blueberries, patjook, cornflakes and even a faux egg (fashioned from milk and mango konnyaku).
