The rain has been relentless lately and it doesn’t look like it’ll let up anytime soon. However you can stay snug with this deliciously zesty cocktail!

The rainy season is upon us and while it’s comforting to be home as the thunderous storms beat down outside our windows, it can get a little sombre and dreary.

So to add a little zesty twist to your rainy nights in, Zachary Connor de Git, William Grant & Sons Regional Portfolio Ambassador for Southeast Asia, suggests mixing up a delightful drink that will warm you right up as you get yourself comfortable for a movie marathon (may we suggest the Godfather trilogy, for example?)

Old & Rusty

Ingredients:

45ml Monkey Shoulder
15ml Drambuie (Heather Honey Liqueur)
Lemon Twist
Dash of Angostura Bitters
Dash of Sugar (If Desired)

Method:

Add all ingredients into a mixing vessel, add ice and stir. Strain over fresh ice in a whisky glass and garnish with orange zest.

Zachary’s Note:

As the rainy days continue it’s nice to sit at home on your porch or veranda and watch it pour down. To accompany this moment something sweeter but quite stiff can really fit the mood. The honey notes from the Drambuie really compliment the vibrant citrus flavours that come from Monkey Shoulder. The sweetness from the honey really warms you up and can be quite soothing. Drink one, drink two, drink three responsibly.
