Maison Ikkoku: ‘There is Gold In The Basket’ kiwi cocktail recipe

For a light but utterly zesty zespri kiwifruit-infused cocktail, try this recipe, courtesy of Maison Ikkoku, at home

Launched in collaboration with the Zespri Sunny Everywhere Campaign that highlights the different ways to use kiwis in recipes, this particular cocktail recipe is one we’re completely gushing about.  Inspired by a recent trip to New York, the unique and refreshing cocktail is the work of Maison Ikkoku’s director and mixologist Ethan Leslie Leong. The drink represents the perfect blend of fresh herbs, bombay sapphire gin and SunGold Kiwifruit allowing for you to enjoy kiwi in a fun way and to unwind after a damp day.

If you do not plan to have a taste of the drink at Maison Ikkoku, here’s the simple and easy recipe that you can try out at home – also this is basically how you add sunshine to your nights!

Ingredients:

1 SunGold Kiwifruit
2 oz. Bombay Sapphire Gin
0.5 oz. Yuzu Juice
1 oz. sugar syrup

Method:

1- Remove the skin of Zespri’s SunGold kiwifru it. Muddle the kiwi in a mixing glass.

2- Pour 2 oz. of Bombay Sapphire gin into a shaker.

3- Pour 0.5 oz. of Yuzu juice into the shaker

4- Pour 1 oz. of sugar syrup into the shaker

5- Pour the concoction into the mixing glass.

6- Shake well and strain the concoction.

7- Serve with decorative flowers
