Dressing recipe: How to prepare an original vinaigrette?
updated the 14 July 2015 à 18:35Season your light summer dishes and salads with a yummy vinaigrette dressing – take a look at how to create your own original vinaigrette using various ingredients. Get creative!
The basis for a vinaigrette is always the same: mustard, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. So far, it sounds simple, but while you’re in the supermarket, you’re suddenly faced with rapeseed oil, sunflower, walnut, hazelnut, olive and macadamia oil among others… so which one should you pick? Your favorite!
We encourage you to feel free to experiment a little and try using oils rich in omega-3 (nuts) and omega-6 (sunflower), and fats which are good for your cardiovascular system and your brain. The same goes for vinegar: balsamic, raspberry, wine, cider, tarragon, shallot… just experiment!
VARIATIONS ON A THEME
To avoid getting bored and spice things up a little, add other ingredients:
– Condiments such as garlic, onion or shallots
– Blend herbs and spices to elevate your dressing (thyme, rosemary, parsley, coriander, ginger, pepper)
– If you prefer a touch of sweetness, add a teaspoon of honey.
Think also of citrus: lemon, orange, grapefruit and sprouted seeds like sesame. With all that added, your recipes will look better and also impress your guests!
