Are depolluting plants really effective?

They moisten the air, absorb the excess CO2 in your house… Many promises are built around these depolluting plants, but are they as beneficial as deemed?

In 1984, a NASA researcher observed that leaves and roots lower the rate of pollution of a confined place such as a space shuttle. In France, similar studies have been led since 2005 within the program Phyt’ air – at the technical scientific centre of the building, the faculty of pharmacy of Lille and the association Plant’airpur.

Wise and cautious, they confirmed these discoveries while noticing variable performances according to pollute micro-organism and types of plants, density of the foliage and the substrate.
