Holiday photos: “I publish too many snaps from my holidays on the Internet”

Virginia loves photography and perhaps shares them too much. Psychotherapist Christine Ulivucci weighs in on the matter.

Virginie Miami

“I PUBLISH THEM ON MY BLOG AND ON INSTAGRAM”

VIRGINIE, 41, IN CHARGE OF NUMERICAL AND AUDIOVISUAL COMMUNICATION.

“During our last journey, one week in Miami, I took 1,000 photos! Some with my smart phone to get an instantaneous moment, such as a jump in the swimming pool or an exchange in tennis. Others with my camera: landscapes, photos of us on the beach in the sunrise… I like having pictures of my three children together. They are always at ease and my youngest girl takes, just like me, photos of everything. I publish them on my blog and on the social networks, and I store them in an external hard disk every year. In contrast, at our home, there are not many exhibited photos. ”

THE expert’s OPINION – “BE CAREFUL OF EXCESS!”

“We feel that Virginie has a true interest in photos. Moreover, she changes between her smart phone and a reflex device according to the results she wishes to achieve. The children play the game. We also guess that she has a need to express herself. Virginie takes photos to communicate, not to expose them at home. The blog and the social networks answer to the same need to share traditional albums, but also allow an extension beyond the family group. Nevertheless, 1,000 photos in a week, is huge! In front of this profusion of keeping track which threatens all our contemporaries, be careful not to confront the descendants with a surplus of images. A little sorting can ga  long way.”
