For hipster, Brooklyn vibes: Charoen Krung
Charoen Krung is Bangkok's oldest road and fast becoming the city’s hottest attraction. Home to its first ever creative district, the area, which declined after the early 20th century, has recently seen a new crop of galleries, restaurants (like Little Market, featured above) and bars which have brought a new life to the area. Here's a bit of history: the southern section of Bangkok’s Charoen Krung road – a 150-year-old rail lane that leads all the way to the Chao Phraya River – was actually home to the city’s first tram line. With a burgeoning local arts scene here, it's no surprise that Charoen Krung is Bangkok's answer to New York's Brooklyn.

For trendy restaurants: Thonglor
Bangkok's increasingly popular neighborhood of Thonglor is gaining traction as the newest 'it' district, for its wide variety of eateries and nightlife venues that promises something for every type of traveler, Thonglor is certainly one to watch. We couldn't pick a favourite, but The Commons (pictured above) ranks high on the list.

For vintage goods: Jatuchak Green Night Market
Make no mistake; despite its hoard of tourists, Bangkok’s famous Chatuchak Market is still worth a visit, if you’re looking for souvenirs and other trinkets to bring home. But for a far less touristy bazaar option with a vintage goods section to boot, you definitely can’t give the Jatuchak Green Night Market a miss.

For a vintage cinema experience: Scala Cinema
This classic, old-school single-screen cinema is the last of its kind in Bangkok. With its vintage aesthetics and intricate opulent ceiling, its nostalgic interiors and architecture alone warrants a visit. Bonus: Its movie tickets (and popcorn) are also far cheaper than the commercial cinemas you’ll find elsewhere in Bangkok.
