Expecting company and forgot to plan ahead? We’ve got your back with our ultimate 2 day itinerary for all your guests.

It’s Thursday night, you’re exhausted, still cooking and there’s one more day of the week. Then you remember: your brother’s wife’s sister’s daughter is coming to Singapore this weekend, which means you’re playing tourist guide. Great.

This role (if you will) can be rather stressful. You may be short of ideas on how to keep visitors entertained, with little time to coordinate a schedule for them. But don’t fret, we’ve got you covered. Here is a complete two-day itinerary for you to cherry pick off, and show your visitor(s) a great time.

DAY ONE

Morning

Start the day early and take your guests out for a local breakfast, kaya toast and a kopi at any hawker centre or local breakfast spot near your place. Jump on the MRT and head to Marina Bay area. Where are you headed? Gardens by the Bay of course! Be sure you check out the OCBC Sky-walk and Cloud Forest.

Afternoon

Once that’s over you’ll be pretty hungry, right? Stop by a hawker centre close by to give them a taste of local delights – we opt for chicken rice, of course. Although Satay by the bay only a stone’s throw away.

After lunch is when things get interesting, it’s time to hop on board the Singapore Flyer. No doubt, this is the ultimate tourist attraction, but it really does have some beautiful, panoramic views of the city!

Once you get off, make your way across the river and head to Merlion park. Okay, we were wrong, THIS is the most touristic stop – but a must! If you’re a really good friend you can even take a picture of your visitor pretending to drink the water coming from the Merlion – you know the one. It’s the middle of the day, you guys must be boiling! Pick up a local ice cream sandwich to cool down as well as show off another foodie fave of Singapore.

Evening

The sun will be setting soon, and what better way to spend it than on a rooftop with awesome views. Head to the Lantern rooftop bar at the Fullerton Hotel, to watch the sun set over the skyline. Hang around because at 8pm there’s Spectra, the light and water show that takes over the entire Marina Bay area, and Lantern Bar has the best view.

Rather than cash out on a pricey dish at the hotel, head over to La Pau Sat, one of Singapore’s most famous street food hubs within an old colonial building. Expect never ending rows of hawkers barbequing satays, as well as other local delights, aka heaven. Bon Apetite!

Unless you’re in a food coma, it’s time to party. Head to Club street for countless cool bars to choose from, or stick around Marina Bay and head to Ca La Vi, the club on top of Marina Bay Sands. (P.S Wednesday is ladies night!) If clubbing is not your thing, you could always head to the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival. It’s the size of three football stadiums and open until April 1st and they take card! Score!

DAY TWO

Morning

Hangover? What hangover! Rise and shine sleepy folk, it’s your last day in Singapore. If you’re feeling super fresh, head on a morning hike to Macritchie Reservoir Park. The Tree-top walk there is supposed to be a one of a kind experience, and is a refreshing change after yesterday’s city buzz.

What better way to reward a hike than with some prata? Head to the Roti-Prata House, a low-key but super good spot that is right in front of Macritchie. Oddly enough, this is where many healthy hikers end up.

Afternoon

We have two options here. For those that love high-end shopping, there is no better way to spend your day than on Orchard Road. We recommend ION Orchard, Tang Plaza and Plaza Singapura. If shopping isn’t your thing head to Haw Par Villa. This weird and wonderful place is home to 1000 statues that retell the ancient Chinese folk tales. Expect statues such as: A woman breast-feeding a woman while children do sit ups and peel oranges. I know, don’t ask, but definitely go.

Evening

You must be tired. Go unwind with your last and most well-deserved local dish: Chilli Crab. We recommend Long Beach Seafood Restaurant or Jumbo Seafood restaurant. Your trip to Singapore wouldn’t be complete without that. Now, once again you have the lighter responsible option: Head to Night Safari, a local wildlife spotting favourite. Or, finish off your trip in style, and head to Zouk – Singapore’s most notorious club on the scene.

Whatever you do, enjoy it. Guests can be hard work, but at least they get you out of the house!
