Shanghai Disneyland and its luxury shopping complex to open in 2015
updated the 12 June 2014 à 16:52Shanghai will open the first Disneyland in mainland China alongside a 50,000 square meter luxury shopping complex and other attractions.
We’re pretty sure you know that Shanghai Disneyland, the first in Mainland China and the 6th one in the world, is opening soon in 2015. It will be, as all Disneylands are, a world of fantasy, imagination, creativity and adventure. But there’s more to it as well; the Treasure Cove, a themed land that will include a “Pirates of the Caribbean” ride designed specifically for Chinese guests.
However this is not the only iconic project that the Shanghai resort is going to set up at the end of 2015. The group is ready to impress us once more with a neighbouring luxury shopping compound. Named “Shanghai Village”, the prospective 50,000 square meter complex, will aim to attract not only international and Asian retailers but also restaurants and cafes. In doing so, the shopping compound is going to be “the most important tourism outlet shopping location in Asia” as Scott Malkin, the Chairman of Value Retail said.
Shanghai Village, located in central Pudong, is expected to open at the end of 2015, the same time as the Disney resort. Time to book our tickets we think!
