Whether it’s for auspicious reasons or just a bid to preserve heritage, with these timeless classics, you’re one step closer to walking down the aisle in style.

Long before the iconic white wedding gowns came along, there was the traditional striking red two-piece qun kua, also known as kua in short. A strong reflection of Chinese culture and tradition, these elegant outfits symbolised good luck, happiness and a blessed marriage life. Needless to say, it was highly favoured by the olden day Chinese bride.

Over the years trends come and go, but the idea of donning the perfect qun kua never fades away completely. Even till today, it remains a hot topic amongst couples right before marriage (not that we’re surprised). In fact, now this very ceremonial dress has been gaining popularity at a steadfast pace, thanks to the increasing number of couples wearing them at pre-wedding photoshoots , and some during tea ceremonies on their actual day.

With all the hype surrounding the traditional garb these days, we can’t help but wonder, where can we actually go to get them?

To set that inquisitive mind at ease, we’ve uncovered an array of boutiques around Singapore where you can rent or buy traditional attires. Now go on, get yourself fitted for the big day and remember to snap some shots for keepsake along the way!
