Smell like a bed of roses with a calming and refreshing spritz of rosewater for the age-old ‘miracle’ water boasts of a host of benefits for the skin.

Personally, we cannot resist the smell of fresh rosewater. Each time we get our eyebrows threaded, we can’t wait for that nice fresh spritz of rosewater to the face after we’re all done.

Apart from smelling like a rose garden, rosewater has as many benefits for your skin and well-being. Indians have in fact been using it for years as a natural perfume, facial product and even an acne treatment.

If you have yet to stop and smell the rose(water)s, it’s time for you to stop and take a deep breath because here are a few reasons why you should be using rosewater.

ALL NATURAL

Make your own rosewater with fresh morning roses. Clean them thoroughly before simmering the petals in water. Wait until the water turns pink and strain the liquid before bottling it. Replenish whenever you run out!

CLOSES THE PORES

Instead of using chemically-based toners, why not tone your face with the sweet scent of rosewater. Using strong astringents can take a toll on your skin, so why not opt for this natural product instead?

SOOTHE ACNE

Calm down your acne-prone skin by mixing fresh rosewater with blended cucumber and honey for a natural face mask that will calm and soften your skin. It also leaves your skin feeling and smelling fresh.

ANTI-BACTERIAL PROPERTIES

Rosewater has anti-bacterial qualities which can help heal sunburn and broken skin. It also helps maintain a balanced pH level on the skin ensuring that it does not produce more sebum than it should.

SHINY LOCKS

Rosewater also helps improve an inflamed scalp and controls dandruff resulting in long healthy hair which is resistant to breakage.

PERK UP YOUR EYES

Wake up tired eyes by dabbing a little rosewater on your occipital bones. It helps repair broken capillaries that cause blood shot eyes or dark circles.

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to make your own bottle of miracle water.
