Say goodbye to clumpy and limp lashes with these 3 easy steps.

A good mascara is any beauty lover’s go-to product to achieve long and luscious lashes. Now while applying mascara is one of the easiest steps to master, there’s no denying that mistakes can still be made. Clumpy lashes, mascara flaking off, or the appearance of smudged panda eyes… if these ring a bell, our round-up of tips and tricks will help you to solve them and enjoy fuss-free lashes all day long.

DO NOT PUMP YOUR MASCARA WAND

To prolong the shelf life of your mascara and preserve its formula, refrain from pumping the wand. This only introduces air into the product and causes it dry out resulting in the appearance of clumpy lashes.

WIPE OFF ANY EXCESS PRODUCT

It is important to use only the right amount of product to ensure that your lashes are not weighed down. When you pull a mascara wand out of the tube, chances are there is excess product sitting on it. Avoid the appearance of clumpy and thick looking lashes by wiping any excess product off before application. This allows you to layer the product easily to build volume and length.

AVOID THE CLUMP BY DOING THE ZIG-ZAG RIGHT

Say goodbye to clumpy lashes by applying the product right. Instead of pulling the mascara wand straight through the lashes, wiggle the wand horizontally through your lashes instead. Making little Z shapes. This helps to distribute the product evenly. Thick lashes? Easy peasy.

It is also important to note the shelf life of your mascara. If your mascara is more than 3 months old it is time to throw it out. Holding on to your mascara longer than you should could cause the formula to clump up and may even cause an eye infection. Save the frustration and throw it out.
