The double black line on your eyelid – is it a new beauty trend? No, it is just the pigments from the liner transferring onto your eyelid. Here is the expert’s tips on how to avoid the ugly mess…

My eyeliner has smudged! Now what?

Olivier Tissot, Rimmel Makeup Artist and Beauty Expert explains how you can prevent unwanted double eyeliner lines.

If you have a slightly droopy eyelid, liner is bound to smudge. To prevent this from happening, draw a line as thin as possible and keep your eyes closed for several seconds, this is the minimum drying time for the product. Then go on to work on your desired thickness – by letting your eyeliner dry beforehand, you are preventing any smudging that may occur.

If your skin is a little oily, transfers are not uncommon as well. To avoid this, use a special eyelid primer before putting on  your makeup. Then use a soft brush to lightly dust the eyelid with a translucent or fair loose powder. This will make the pigments stay in place for a while longer. Again, look down for a few seconds to allow time for the liner to dry.
