Say goodbye to boring ol’ pink and peach blushes for now. It is time to step out of the ordinary and experiment with these different blush shades.

Blushers. When we think of them, we tend to recall pink and peach shades at the top of our heads. These shades are often the safest and generally work for all skin tones. But with blue lipsticks and rainbow lids making a trend this season, why not experiment with your blush shades? Put your conventional blushes aside for a while and give the colours below a try.

ORANGE BLUSHERS

If you thought the furthest you would go would be orange lipstick, think again. Orange is a beautiful shade for a blush. With the right amount and technique, it can help to give off the appearance of a sun kissed complexion. When using a orange blush, keep the rest of your makeup look neutral. Dust champagne gold or bronze shadow over your eyelids and stick to a muted pink lip shade. Sweep the orange blush across the apples of your cheeks and you’ll be all set to rock one of the season’s hottest trends.

FUCHSIA BLUSHERS

If you are unable to detach yourself from the pink colour family, start off by experimenting with fuchsia blusher shades. It is a lovely combination of pink and purple undertones and helps to bring out the natural glow in you. It is important to be light handed when it comes to this shade as going overboard may result in a bruised appearance. We would recommend using a soft blush brush to apply the shade lightly. Increase the intensity for a stronger finish.

DUSTY BROWN BLUSHERS

Almost reminiscent to the shade of rust, dusty brown blushes are perfect for warm skin tones. Not only do they help to add depth to one’s face structure, this blush shade is also suitable for everyday use as a warm and natural look. As this shade packs a punch in the pigmentation department, we would recommend using a tapered blush brush to apply dusty brown blush shades.

SANTA RED BLUSHERS

Christmas is around the corner and there is no better time to experiment with your beauty regimen than this festive season! While Santa-red blush shades can be a tad bit messy to work with, we guarantee that this would not be the last time you’re using this shade. Slowly build up the look by applying your blush after foundation. This allows the blush to settle in and gives us the freedom to design our look for the day. With the red blush being the center of attraction, you can decide if you would like to intensity or town down the look for the day. For beginners, complete your Santa red blush look with a simple wash of colour like muted browns over your lid and lips.

GRAY BLUSHERS

We consider gray to be the most unique blush shade in this round up. While most would consider bright, neon and loud blush shades to be unique, we on the other hand believe that grey blush shades are perfect for creating a subtle contour. Do not expect this shade to do much for your cheeks. Instead embrace this shade and work it to your advantage by applying it with a kabuki brush.

Head over to the gallery up top for a round up of unqiue blush shades to choose from. Always remember to make the vivid blush the main star of your look and work the rest of your routine around this shade.
