While we may not be experiencing a change in season, we can however embrace it with our nails.

While we do not get the opportunity to experience the chill in the Fall air, or chances to dress up like our favourite stars rocking the fashion style of boots, scarves or even trench coats, we can always mimic getting ready for the new season by changing up your choice of nail shades.

The season sees one bidding goodbye to the bright shades of summer such as teal and pastels. Instead the season’s hottest trends include metallic, various shades of gray, almost black, deep jewel tones as well as the classic nudes. That’s right ladies! It’s time to put aside those fun shades and opt for rich and sexy shades instead.

BARELY NUDE

A lady can never go round with a nude polish. Not only does this shade spell classy, it helps to bring out your gold or silver statement pieces. Nudes are tricky to apply as they may give a sheer colour payoff. To avoid nude nail lacquers from appearing washed out on your nails, apply a white base followed by a nude shade of your choice. This gives the most opaque colour.

METALLIC GUNMETAL

This shade has been spotted on the runways not only the eyes but nails as well. It’s sure to bring out the rocker chick in you. If you don’t like applying stark black nail polish, opt for a metallic gunmetal shade as it’s toned down and more wearable for everyday use.

MAHOGANY

When we mention mahogany, we can’t help but think of the wilting leaves. That beautiful sight can be captured in the form of a nail shade perfect for the fall transition. If you are feeling adventurous, add a sheer gold top coat to bring out the mahogany tone even more.

MUTED GREYS

With 50 shades of grey taking over our lives, we weren’t surprised when nail lacquer companies came out with inspired collections. This shade has since caught our eyes and rightfully so. It is classy and adds an element of mystery. Is it black? Is it grey? We wonder.

DEEP REDS

Stash those bright reds away just for a tad bit and flaunt those deep red nails. The deep red is such a universal colour perfect for women of any skin tone. If you are not a fan of glossy red nails, opt for a matte top coat instead.
