Your nails are the easiest to play around with – all you have to do is change the colour and you’ll get a wholly different look going on. However there are days when just wash of colour is not going to tickle your fancy. So on days like those where you’d like to take your manicure a notch higher but without the added effort, we’ve got 15 fuss-free tips to change up your manicure game.

1. Create a tie dye effect by using a damp eye shadow stick and tapping green polish on the top of the nail and light blue on the bottom.

2. Go for a classic look with a white manicure. Your tan will look amazing with it.

3. Shift the french diagonal point release, to bring a touch of boldness and originality to manicures.

4. Adorn your fingers with temporary gold tattoos for a dressy look.

5. Reverse the french manicure by polishing the base with a strip of colour and keeping the top of the nail in a lighter shade.

6. Create a colour gradient that flows from the thumb to the little finger, starting from the lightest to the darkest shade.

7. Adorn your fingers or nails with little rhinestones to amp up bling factor on night outs.

8. Draw a horizontal black line in the middle of the nail (preferably if your polish is in a light shade such as beige) to create a minimalist yet bold look.

11. Dress up one of your nails with a patch of aztec motifs.

12. Give your manicure a sailor theme by colouring your nails blue. Once dry, use a special white felt pen and draw strokes.

13. Stick on a black decal motif of your choice on one of your previously painted red nails, to give a touch of whimsy to your traditional polish.

14. Apply a matte top coat on nude polish to create a slightly porcelain appearance.

15. Paint on a coral base and complete it with a glittery top coat for a shimmery sunset look.
