It’s time to bid smudged liners and patchy foundations goodbye by bagging our very nifty tips and tricks in the makeup department.

You leave your house in a jiffy only to realize that your eyeliner is uneven, you have way too much rogue on and you have lipstick stains on your teeth. These might not all happen at once but what do you do in such situations?

Makeup mishaps can happen anywhere and everywhere. Even with the use of base products, our makeup looks may be subjected to slips due to factors such as humidity and heat, and not forgetting one of the biggest factors – the office environment.

Being in an office environment for a few hours straight in the presence of air conditioner can take a toll on our skin and makeup. The recycled air dries out skin out causing our makeup to appear patchy and even flaky over time. If you are constantly on the move between an air-conditioned and outdoor location, you might find the heat melting your makeup off and causing smudges on either your eyeliner or mascara (if you are not using a waterproof formula).

To fix such mistakes anytime and anywhere, it is important to have certain tools stashed away in your makeup bag.

Your basic ‘makeup first aid kit’ should include
• Cotton swabs to fix any precise mistakes
• Moisturizer to remove any mistakes involving oil based products
• Blotting papers to remove any excess oil
• Concealer to serve as multi-purpose fixers
• Large brush to blend away any excess product
• Lip balm to refresh any dull lip colour

Head over to the gallery up top to read about you can use the products from your ‘makeup first aid kit’ on common makeup mishaps.
