Use these colours to help make your brown eye colour stand out in the crowd.

With at least half of the world’s population boasting brown as their natural eye colour, there’s no reason you should not know how to flatter them with makeup. After all, many makeup artists are of the opinion that it is crucial to make use of the right shades to make your best feature pop.

So with the following 5 shades, you are bound to go from common to fabulous in no time.

PURPLE

If there is a universally flattering eyeshadow shade for brown eyes, it is purple (even though it’s not a  a shade commonly adopted by many). In fact many stay away from it as they might not be sure of how to use the hue. For beginners, try using a purple cream shadow as they tend to be more forgiving. Using your ring finger, spread the shadow all over your lids and blend well.

BLUE

Blue is another feared shade but we believe that it should make its position permanent beside your neutral. A pop of blue on your lower lash line will bring out the warmth in brown eyes. There are many blues out there but we recommend using cobalt or royal blue as they are lovely contrast shades.

GOLD

There are many different types of brown eye colours – from hazel to chocolate brown, the list is endless. For those with hazel eyes, use a stark gold shadow to bring out the yellow tint in your eye colour. For darker brown eye colours, choose hue of golds such as copper or bronze gold instead.

GREEN

From forest green to teal green, the world is your oyster when it comes to this shade. In fact take the plunge to mix different shades of green to draw attention to your beautiful brown eyes. Start off by applying a darker shade of green like emerald or forest green all over the lid, diffusing it out well to create a subtle smokey effect. Apply a lighter green on your lower lash line and smoke the colour out using a shader brush. Curl your lashes and you are all ready to go.

SILVER

Shine bright by using a silver shade all over your lids. This will be perfect for nights out but if you would like to use this shade during the day, apply the slightest amount of silver to your inner corners to make your brown eyes pop. Always be light handed when using shadows with metallic finishes to avoid a harsh makeup look.
