Now you have one more reason to pamper yourself and spend more time on those brows.

A scientific study has recently reveled that eyebrows are the most important feature you have. Practically, our eyebrows serve to protect dirt and sweat from getting into our eyes. Beauty wise, eyebrows are the defining feature which frame our face. How’s that for nailing two birds with one stone?

Eyebrow shapes have been changing tremendously though – remember there was a time when the unibrow was in trend. In the 90s, the trend was to have overplucked and thin eyebrows. Fast forward 2 decades and we are literally obsessed with bold eyebrows. Think Cara Delevingne. Most of us are embracing the natural shape of our brows and growing it out thick.

It might surprise you to know that the idea of having thicker, fuller brows is not new to the beauty world. This trend was hugely prominent during the 1940s and 1960s. Known as the era of the ‘Swinging Sixties’ icons such as Twiggy became a trend setter with her full but arched brows.

Since then our arches have been subjected to techniques such as threading, trimming, bleaching just to name a few. Now, this is the year of full, prominent brows, as they also play a part in facial expression recognition. Brows which are thick and shaped well add balance and symmetry to the face shape. This changes the overall appearance of the face making it appear either friendly or moody.

If you’re on the fence on whether you should grow out your brows, here are some reasons why.

  • Fuller brows call for less makeup. With thicker brows forming the most prominent feature of your face, it is the perfect reason to wear less colour on the face.
  • Fuller brows subtracts the years from your actual age by making you appear more youthful.
  • Fuller brows allow you to express more. Think raising right eyebrow emoji
  • Fuller eyebrows help to add balance to your face. With age, our skin tends to sag but thicker brows contribute to a “face lift”

If you’re still not convinced, here is a round up of 10 celebrities with the best brows – brows we would love to have.
