The Mexican beauty’s refreshing makeup look includes using a powder foundation and a red liquid lipstick.
The biggest shows during fashion month are do not only attract those in the industry and the fashion-savvy public, but also Hollywood’s biggest stars. At Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2016 show during Paris Fashion Week, actress Salma Hayek was in attendance and sported the most refreshing take on a classic beauty look.
To get her flawless matte complexion, try your hand at a powder foundation. The term ‘cake face’ may be ringing in your head as you read this, but hear us out – buff the powder onto primed skin with a dense brush and follow up with a face mist or setting spray. The light layer of moisture will instantly cause the powder to melt deeper into the skin to create a more natural looks-like-skin effect. Bronze the perimeters of your face afterwards to add warmth with a fluffy contour or powder brush.
Go for dark, natural brows like Salma’s and fill them in with a brown pencil. The eyes are low-maintenance, needing only a smidgen of brown with a smokey eye pencil on the outer corners of the lids, blended with your ring finger. Finish off with mascara and apply your best tomato-red liquid lipstick for colour that will last for hours.
