Laneige x PLAYNOMORE: First look at Laneige Meets Fashion latest collaboration

Mark your calendars as the second limited edition fashion collaboration of the K-beauty brand is set to hit the shelves this September.
When it comes to quirky collaborations, leave it to K-beauty specialists Laneige to come up with some pretty exciting ones. After stealing our hearts last year with their first Laneige Meets Fashion tie-up with impossibly cool Korean label pushBUTTON, this year they teamed up with Chae-yeon Kim, the designer behind popular label PLAYNOMORE.
Known for their playful rendition of the classic square tote bag – by adding their signature cute ‘SHYGIRL’ eyes and plump lips – no wonder the label has been a hit with trend-setting K-celebrities such as model Irene Kim and SNSD’s member Hyoyeon among many others. And like us, if you’re a big fan of everything quirky – then this collection should firmly be on your must-have list this year.
Set to launch in September, the limited edition collection constitutes of Intense Lip Gel in 10 delicious shades, Laneige BB Cushion and BB Cushion Pore Control as well as their Jet Curling Mascara.
Apart from the adorable packaging featuring PLAYNOMORE’s SHYGIRL ‘wearing Laneige cosmetics’ and renamed as ‘My darling, SHYGIRL’, conveying both brands’ aesthetics and sensibilities – the products in this collection are surely as covetable especially the latest creation – the Intense Lip Gel.
Boasting special formulations – namely the Oil Floating Tech and Oil-Water Double Moisturising which work together to separate the gloss from the colour pigments to ensure long-lasting colour as well as balm-like hydration – the Intense Lip Gel is the latest lip product from Laneige, who are always on top of all K-trends (don’t you love those Two-Tone Lip Bars released earlier this summer?)
Available in 10 different shades, this hybrid between a lipstick, lip gloss and lip balm is great for those looking for a slight shine without the stickiness. Testing it ahead of its release, we can assure you of its hydrating effect and lasting colour which can be as subtle or intense as you wish, due to its sheerness which increases intensity as you layer it on. If we had to pick our favourite colours, it would be the flirty Custard Souffle and more sophisticated Squeeze Plum.
As for the BB Cushions, we think they need no introduction having reached a cult status among K-beauty fans including ourselves (read our review here). And to top off the SHYGIRL look, the only eye makeup product you need is the Jet Curling Mascara which features a 3D Jelly Rubber Brush to enable you to use it both horizontally and vertically and achieve curled lashes which could last the day.
