In anticipation of Lisa Eldridge’s new book, Face Paint, we run down our picks of beauty bibles to add to your bookshelf.

Beauty dedicated blogs and websites are great, but there’s something so romantic about owning a book and flipping through physical pages. Even everyone’s favourite makeup artist, the indispensable Lisa Eldridge, seems to agree. After months of anticipation, Eldridge’s new book, Face Paint will finally be released on 13 October.

Instead of doing the predictable and writing a beauty manual of sorts, Eldridge has opted to share her geeky side by exploring the fascinating history of makeup. Other than sharing her extensive knowledge of beauty history, she even shares her private collection of beautiful vintage makeup with her readers.

While counting down the days till we can possess our own copy of Face Paint, we’re leafing through some of our favourite beauty books. From cult favourites to new classics, check out our picks of the best books on beauty.
