The digital world has had enough with the media’s clichéd concept of beauty and the Internet’s body-shaming instances so they did something about it.

From cyber-bullying to depression, social media has been an unfortunate platform for all things negative. It has transformed into a channel where strangers can nonchalantly throw hurtful body-shaming comments, and one that fuels our insecurity in regards to the unattainable standards of beauty relayed by the media.

But in what could be seen as an attempt to redeem itself, social media has recently been a space to address — and hopefully solve — body-shaming issues. Campaigns like Dove’s #ChooseBeautiful and Rebel Wilson’s #ImNoAngel created waves on the Internet as they remind us what the real definition of beauty is.

These campaigns, usually hashtagged on sites like Twitter and Instagram, serve as reminders that the value of a woman is not measured by her weight or physical imperfections.

If you’re feeling down or insecure about your physical attributes, don’t beat yourself up and refer to these inspiring, body-positive campaigns we have in our gallery. As long as you’re healthy, embrace your body and love all its curves and edges!
