Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2015
What: Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2015

Where: various locations around Marina Bay
Why: the 10th edition of Marina Bay Singapore Countdown will usher in Singapore’s Golden Jubilee this New Year’s Eve with more wishes to be collected on a record 25,000 wishing spheres that will be set afloat in Marina Bay. Five thousand red spheres will be included for the first time to form a giant number ‘50’ in the Bay.

This year’s countdown will feature video projections on the façade of The Fullerton Hotel and the Merlion. Close to 400 drummers will also perform “live” to specially-commissioned music as the event culminates in an eight- minute firework display at midnight.

For the very first time, 50RP is celebrating as a whole with Sear, Angie's Oyster Bar and Empire combined into one massive party venue with 360-degree views of the Marina Bay. Catch fireworks at midnight and toast with fine champagne as we bring in the new year and party till the wee hours of the morning.

Why: Every musician needs to take action to keep themselves fresh from time to time, but James Ford and Jas Shaw of Simian Mobile Disco have really gone to extremes this time: they’ve completely abandoned every tool they previously used to make music. The duo have never been ones to follow anyone else’s methods in any case.

Why: Get ready to revel in the chapel this New Year’s Eve at The White Rabbit as we countdown to the brightest year yet. Parisian DJ Zimmer brings a mixture of tropical feel-good grooves and dreamy soundscapes with Californian and French influences. Having played alongside industry icons like Darius, FKJ and Kartell, Zimmer has emerged a pioneer of the new French house sound.

Christmas bells are still a-ringing but it’s also time to usher in the New Year with a slew of parties and fireworks. Here’s our pick of events.

It’s Christmas and the bells are still ringing proudly this weekend but a whole lot of hype is also building up for the legion of New Year Eve parties and shindigs, as 2015 officially gets rung in, complete with elaborate countdowns, extravagant fireworks and bottles of champagne.

Bid goodbye to 2014 by raising a toast to new beginnings at the plethora of events in the lineup! You might even want to try party hopping.
