Get ready to shop the British designer’s iconic closet as over 600 of her clothing items will be sold this month on The Outnet to benefit mothers2mothers organisation which helps women with HIV.

In recent years many efforts have been made to prevent the spread of AIDS, especially among children. However, the virus of the century is able to reach  700 children every day, while we can still save them. 90% of these children live in sub-Saharan Africa, and the vast majority are unfortunately infected by the mother during pregnancy, childbirth or breastfeeding.

The moters2mothers Association advises, employs and empowers mothers living with HIV, in order to inform, and to better assist them.

Despite being short staffed, the medical team was able to be in contact with more than 1.2 million HIV-positive mothers in nine countries in sub-Saharan Africa. As such, the association launched prevention programs in those countries and set similar practices in two other countries, and became a partner of the United Nations in their fight against the spread of the transmission of the virus from mother to child.

Last February, invited by Anna Wintour and Vogue to a trip to South Africa, the designer Victoria Beckham was able to meet Dr. Mitch Besser, founder of the NGO. Affected by the work he has done and what she saw, she decided to take action on their behalf.

True to herself, Victoria combined business with pleasure by organizing a big auction whose proceeds will benefit mothers2mothers.
After going through her extensive wardrobe (we’re guessing), she decided to sell her most publicized outfits. Specifically created for her, these dresses can be yours between 20 and 25 August. Thus, these items, valued by Christie’s, will become the highlight of your personal collection… unless you wait for the reverse auction where 10 absolutely iconic pieces will be offered to The Outnet customers at a starting price which will decrease by a fixed amount every five minutes.

From her pop career with the Spice Girls to her outings with her husband David, be prepared to shop these magnificent treasures she was seen and documented in; but beware of the fainting in front of your computer as it would be counter-productive!

Victoria Beckham’s charity sale for mothers2mothers will be available exclusively at www.theoutnet.com/vbcharitysale from August 20th-25th, 2014.
