Take a peek at what goes on into making some of the French luxury brand’s exquisite leather pieces at this upcoming exhibition.

From 25 October to 13 December, you can immerse yourself in the world of Hermès
at the ArtScience Museum. Leather Forever is a free exhibition for the public to experience the crafting process of the French luxury brand’s famous bags in an up-close and insightful experience.

The exhibition will display items that tell the history of Hermès as well as their latest creations. Craftsmen from the workshops in Paris will also be present to demonstrate the art of leather working by creating some the iconic bags on site.

In addition, to the lead exhibition, Hermès’ Little Room of Wanders will be held at the Asian Civilisations Museum in honour of Singapore’s Jubilee year. It will contain objects from the Emile Hermès museum in Paris, such as collection of paintings, equestrian objects, ingenious mechanisms and rare books.

To further celebrate the launch of these exhibitions in Singapore, Hermès has specially created five Kellydoll bags in honour of each decade of Singapore’s independence.

“This is a very exciting moment for Hermès in Singapore,” said Pierre-Alexis Dumas, Artistic Director and great grandson of Émile Hermès, “These two unique museums will offer the perfect Hermès flânerie for the eyes and the mind. I am happy and proud, in the name of Hermès, to share it with Singapore.”

Thierry Hermès, who crafted premium leather equestrian gear, founded Hermès in 1837. Over the century, the luxury brand has contributed icons such as the Birkin and the Kelly bag to the fashion world.

The Hermès Leather Forever Exhibition will be held from 25 October to 13 December at the ArtScience Museum. Open daily, 10 am to 7 pm and from 10 am to 9 pm on Fridays. Admission is free.
