Chi Chi Von Tang: New Singaporean label to launch at F1

From the name along and the warrior-like influences, let’s just say we’re excited to see how this local brand turns out.

Often times when you think of melding East and West sensibilities into your outfits, chances are something or the other would tend to look out of place – whether the mandarin collar or Asian-inspired prints. However, if you’re still insistent on working that look then you’d be all the more glad that there’s a new Singaporean label springing up to feed exactly that need. Named Chi Chi Von Tang, the local brand is dubbed as ‘Grace Jones meets Chinese Couture’ where its roots are steeped in Asian culture but yet the pieces are completely wearable for the modern woman.

Featuring sharp tailored pieces, that essentially could pass off as fashion armour, one could easily create quite the femme fatale look with this label in their wardrobe. Perfect for days when you’re thinking of taking over the world.

Set to launch at Amber Lounge as the official fashion show at the upcoming Formula 1 night race, the whole concept, as set by Lisa Crosswhite, creative director of the brand, is to create edgy and contemporary Chinese-inspired designs.

“Sexy, mysterious, and a woman of the world. Chi Chi is for the exotic warrior princess in you. She succeeds in a man’s world, while building her own. She is aware of her Asian roots. She intrigues,” said Crosswhite.

A curated selection of Chi Chi von Tang will be exclusively available for pre-order at Gnossem this October, while the full collection will be ready for sale on Gnossem and two overseas retailers for Chinese New Year 2016.

So who’s up to kick some ass with these warrior-like pieces?
