Dizzying Splendour: COS debuts new fashion film collaboration with Lernert & Sander

The minimalist fashion label showcased their Autumn/ Winter 2015 collection in a loopy new short film.

In their second collaboration, COS teamed up with Lernert & Sander to produce the film Around COS, to showcase their Autumn/ Winter 2015 collection with the help of hula-hoops.

The minimalistic short film opens with two models in a hula-hoop performance, moving in surreal motion in a pale circular room. The film is the dutch duo’s experimentation with 360-degree camera work. They even hooked up the hula hoops with GoPro cameras, giving the audience the centripetal perspective of hula hooping.

For the film, COS brought in World Champion hula-hoop Marawa The Amazing as an on-set expert to help cast and train the models in the art of hula-hooping.

The simplicity behind the film well complimented the Swedish fashion brand’s signature modern and minimalistic designs.

“Lernert & Sander never fail to bring warmth and a playful component to their work,” said Karin Gustafsson, the brand’s head of womenswear design, about the fashion film. “With ‘Around COS’ they have enabled us to present the COS world through these elements once again.”

Lernert & Sander are known for producing contemporary art film with a simplistic flair. In their last short film for the fashion brand was titled The Sound of COS and played with the effects of foley sounds.
