Get the Look: Alexander McQueen’s laid-back romance
When was the last time you wore a floral maxi dress the McQueen way?
In need of a little romance? You don’t always have to look to pink hues and oversized florals to achieve a romantic look. Sarah Burton showed us how it’s done at the Alexander McQueen Spring 2016 show, featuring casual dresses fit for maidens of the olden times, yet classic and in the moment.
We recreated one of the runway looks by going for a floral maxi by Paul & Joe, in a small floral print and soft layers in a sweet ivory shade. Shoes are kept casual with a pair of white leather clogs that will keep you comfortable throughout the day with your beau. Let yourself go hands-free with a brown leather crossbody bag and accessorise minimally with a dainty pair of topaz studs. For makeup, don’t go farther than filling in your brows, adding a glow to the skin and brightening up the lips and cheeks with some colour.
You’ll still be looking chic, never girly.
