30 Streetstyle looks to inspire your jumpsuit style
updated the 6 October 2015 à 22:52Get inspired to wear a jumpsuit this week with the help of chic streetstyle snaps. We show you how you can wear it in more ways than one with some styling tips.
Though jumpsuits may sometimes seem like a hassle (bathroom breaks will have to be extended for, well, obvious reasons), there’s no denying they’re statement pieces that require minimum effort. Just imagine how you’ll be able to cut down your styling time down to half in the mornings – jumpsuits are a complete outfit wonder, and any other coordinating items are purely optional.
We take a look at how our top streetstyle favourites work their take on the jumpsuit and overalls trend. From playful weekend looks to serious but chic office combos, read on for styling options you’ll definitely want to incorporate this week.
PUT ON A JACKET
For the freezing cold office or a chilly night out, throw on a jacket, coat or vest. Cropped leather styles are edgy while long flowy pieces will give you even more length for your frame. If you don’t mind keeping your arms cool, put on a sleeveless vest to show off the sleeves of your jumpsuit, if any.
WEAR AN INNER TOP
Double layers don’t have to make you feel claustrophobic if each layer is summer-friendly. Take the lead from fashion week’s street style stars and put on a simple T-Shirt under printed overalls, a dress shirt under a striped jumpsuit or even an off shoulder top to go with a strappy number.
BELT IT
Belts are an easy accessory to add to an otherwise shapeless jumpsuit. Curvy girls will especially benefit from this styling tip, as the accentuated waistline will flaunt the existing curves while giving the silhouette some definition. Be bold in matching a bright belt with a matching jacket, or belt around your long coat or cardigan for the perfectly-haphazard effortless style.
ON ITS OWN
No matter if its plain or printed, a well-fitting jumpsuit will look great on its own. Just accessorise with a statement neck piece, a bold clutch or your preferred show-stopping shoes and you’re ready to go.
