Is 50 Shades of Grey tempting you to bring out your sexier side this Valentine’s Day? Well, we’ve got some tips and ideas for you to pick that perfect sexy lingerie for the occasion.

If you ask us, nothing makes a woman feel sexier than a pair of killer heels. But also, feeling sexy and feminine has as much to do with the inside as the outside.

And by inside we mean – just one layer beneath that hot LBD: the lingerie.

Yes ladies, the outside might be key in making the first impression but nothing screams sexy and confident as an exquisite set of a matching lace set of bra and panties – and occasionally a suspended belt, why not?

As Valentine’s Day is approaching, we thought a few tips from one woman to another would be the best present we can give you.

So whether you’re going on a date with that special guy, having a low key celebration at home, or even single with no prospect date– ditch that mismatched cotton set that is doing you no favours and embrace your inner Dita Von Teese with a set of racy yet classy lingerie to boost your confidence.

Useful Tips

If this is a new territory for you, here are a few tips to help you find the best match when you hit the shops (or the button if you happen to be shopping online). From the classic  all-back 50 Shades of Grey inspired to something more fun and colourful, here’s what you need to consider:

1- Black and red are favourites but there is also a variety of bright hues which are equally sexy and can make a nice change. Look out for colours like hot pink, orange and purple.

2- When picking colours, take into consideration your skin tone. If you have very fair complexion avoid pastels and white/off white as they might wash you out. Go instead for bold colours or black. If you have medium to dark tones, most colour would look good on you.

3- Luxurious underwired sheer lace sets are by far the most sexy and elegant. But if you are small busted you can go for slightly padded ones but don’t over-do it for that fake push-up effect is so OTT and dated.

4- Try patterns like florals and colour blocking which are a little more fun and flirty.

5- If you’re curvy, why not go with something vintage-inspired like high-waisted briefs? They would look great with suspender belts and stockings.

6- Size does matter! Make sure you get the right size bra (get measured if you haven’t lately) and beware that with some styles you might need a size smaller or bigger depending on the cut.

7- Note which bra cup fits and flatters you best (full, demi, quarter, balconette, etc…). Once you find a style that works for you, stick to it.

8- Think accessories! While a whip, handcuffs or nipple pasties might not be everyone’s cup of tea, there are many others like suspender belts and sheer kimonos which would complement your bra/panties set and take it to another level.

Last but not least – remember to enjoy the dressing up process and take a good look in the mirror. Confidence is above all, the sexiest thing a woman could wear.
