All Day Dining: A Fresh Daytime & Brunch Menu
Staying true to its ethos of using only the finest ingredients in its dishes, the pastries in Merci Marcel’s daytime and brunch menus are made with 100% French Butter and are baked fresh daily. Its greens and fresh produce are also sourced and purchased directly from the Tiong Bahru Market every morning, with organic eggs solely used across all its dishes.

All Day Dining: Wine & Tapas Bar
In the evenings, Merci Marcel introduces its French social dining concept with a creative dinner 'tapas' menu, featuring fresh take on traditional French cuisine. Take the starter, Duck Rillettes, for instance, where the dish's silky paste is served with delicate melted camembert cheese and marinated pear.

Tuck into the selection of main courses like the classic Tarte Flambée - only elevated with a butter blue cheese and asparagus. No doubt, the pièce de résistance on the menu is the Australian Angus Beef (400g), a generously portioned select cut that is grilled to caramelised perfection, and served with creamy seasonal mushrooms, beef jus reduction and burnt leek.

Dedicated to bringing in the best of French boutique wineries to our shores, Merci Marcel carries an impressive beverage list that run the gamut from imported French wines, ciders and beers, exclusive 100% organic UMA Ice Tea, to the finest champagne selection. Its wine list is interestingly categorised by moods like ‘Dinner with friends’, ‘Date night’, ‘100% organic’, which lets diners tailor their preferred drink choice according to the occasion.

What to expect at the boutique: Artisanal Gourmet Foods
Merci Marcel introduces an alternative retail experience through its showcase of high quality artisanal food, drink and lifestyle products that focus on small batch production and ecological sustainability.

The Marcel Wine Cellar houses wines from over 80 independent winemakers and small batch producers, while its Marcel Cheese & Charcuterie Corner carries cheeses sourced from artisan producers in Europe that are air-flown to Singapore on a weekly basis. The cheeses come complemented with 100% organic Bayonne cured ham sourced directly from la Maison Salaison de l'Adour.

The Gourmet Corner also features an extensive range of quality fruit juices, gourmet jams and chocolate from Le chocolate de Francais. All the wines, cheeses and cold cuts can be enjoyed in the cafe or at home.

A relaxed French social dining space that highlights artisanal brands, independent fashion and art.

Today, multi-concept restaurants have certainly become a destination in itself in our Singaporean dining scene. The creative, hipster enclave that is Tiong Bahru now welcomes a new French multi-concept store to its trendy cafe landscape: Merci Marcel.

Merci Marcel is both an all-day dining destination and independent boutique with a curated offerings of gourmet food, imported drinks, art and lifestyle products. By day, it is a French breakfast and brunch cafe; come evening, it turns into a trendy wine and tapas bar.

The 1450 square feet space, which still retains its original shop house fixtures, features 3 distinct spaces: the Lounge, Cafe Chic and the Garden Patio. We can imagine its interiors proving to be a hit. Inspired by the French Riviera and the Bali, the space is furnished in a fresh citrus-toned palette that complement the exposed walls, white and cappuccino-toned rattan furniture, mosaic tile flooring and lush leafy greenery that frame the space.

Open throughout the day, this restaurant is definitely a great new find for an after-work dinner or a casual weekend indulgence or coffee fix. It is still charmingly off the radar, but as with all things food-related in Singapore, we definitely think this is the space to watch.
