Singapore will host the first-ever Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2018 awards ceremony this May
Heads up, cocktail lovers: May certainly looks like its set to be a pretty boozy month.
Considering how Singapore’s cocktail scene has been shaking things up of late (pun intended), it’s perhaps no surprise that it’s been chosen to host the inaugural Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2018 awards ceremony this year.
After all, just last year, a total of 13 Singapore bars made its way onto the coveted list – with The Regent Singapore’s Manhattan Bar even clinching the No. 1 spot. The list, which is the Asian rendition of The World’s 50 Best Bars list first introduced in 2009, is pooled together from the votes of Asia’s 50 Best Bars Academy: a group consisting of over 200 influential industry players across Asia’s bar scene.
Held at the Capitol Theatre on 3 May 2018, this will be the first-ever awards ceremony; and the third annual edition of the list. As you’d expect, the event will be attended by some of Asia’s best bartenders, prolific bar owners, industry figures and international media, followed by an after-party.
It’s certainly a cocktail-crazy month ahead in May: the awards ceremony also coincides nicely with the highly-raved Singapore Cocktail Festival, happening between the 4th to 13th May. The festival celebrates the region’s best watering holes and vibrant cocktail culture, promising the perfect week for cocktail enthusiasts.
