It is no secret that the fusion cuisine scene has been increasing in popularity lately.

We have garlic naan, barbeque ribs and beef lasagna. Then, we have buah keluak prata, chilli padi tenderloin, and veal chop parmigiana… sounds confusing? Welcome to the era of fusion cuisine.

The cultural diversity of this metropolitan city-state has allowed local chefs to experiment with a myriad of ingredients to create exotic dishes that combine flavours from all over the world. Typically, fusion food is made up of a collaboration between European and Asian cuisine because of the distinct tastes these two regions provide. However, this guideline doesn’t always apply. Culinary chefs have recently been shaking up this notion to show that, for example, even the simple mixing of ingredients from different parts of Asia can lead to the creation of a delicious sensory experience.

From a Singapore-American menu to combinations so intrinsic we don’t know what category to place them under, check out our gallery for a display of 5 exciting new restaurants that will satisfy your taste buds several cuisines at a time.
