You’d be surprised: Sarawak’s capital city is likely to delight your inner foodie.

When you think of food cities in Malaysia, Kuching may not be the first city that immediately comes to mind. Although it may not be necessarily as renowned for its food like Penang, Kuching’s cafe scene is definitely one to watch. Beyond their absolutely scrumptious local food fare like the Kuching Laksa (which, incidentally, definitely gives the Penang Assam Laksa a run for its money), kolo mee, and their indigenous cuisine, the cafe scene here boasts of great dining spots that offer delicious food in a beautiful ambience.

If you’re one who loves a little fusion experimentation in your food, give the absolutely chic Sukha a visit and try their savoury Spaghetti Rendang. While you’re there, you can also try their Ayam Pansuh, a local Sarawakian dish! Or if a freshly brewed and delicious blend of coffee is what you’re craving for, we’d recommend Earthlings Coffee Workshop, arguably the best coffee you’ll find in the city. The health aficionados will definitely appreciate the slowly emerging health food scene here. For a spot of guilt-free indulgence, head down to the aptly named No Guilt Cafe for a hearty bowl of salad.
